On 18 May, Minister for the Interior Pieter Heerma paid his very first regional visit to South and East Drenthe. MOVE-certificate had the opportunity to discuss cross-border education and the future of apprentices in the border region with him.
Minister Heerma’s visit was entirely dedicated to presenting his portfolio: cross-border cooperation, the national ‘Vital Regions’ programme and the ‘Regional Deals’. South and East Drenthe was the first region he visited. Everyone present saw this as recognition of the work that has been done here in recent years.
Entrepreneurs, managers, representatives of the authorities and students engaged in discussion. Together, they showed the Minister what cross-border cooperation means in practice. Because that is precisely what the MOVE certificate is all about. With the MOVE certificate, trainees can have their diploma certified across Europe.
The discussion with Minister Heerma reaffirmed why the MOVE certificate is so valuable. Borders must not be a barrier to talent. Not for trainees, not for entrepreneurs and not for the region as a whole.
The MOVE certificate is a collaboration between educational institutions, businesses and public authorities in the border region. Together, they are building a region where talent is given the space to develop, on both sides of the border.
