MOVE-certificate cited as a practical example in the Benelux debate on the transferability of European qualifications

In a recent article on the Benelux countries’ plans to speed up the recognition of professional qualifications within Europe, the MOVE certificate is also cited as an example of an initiative that promotes cross-border mobility.

Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg are lobbying the European Commission for simpler and faster procedures for the recognition of diplomas, certificates and qualifications. Their aim is to improve the mobility of trainees and skilled workers within Europe, particularly in sectors where there is a severe shortage of skilled labour.

The article in ‘Het Financieele Dagblad’ refers to smaller initiatives that are already contributing to this development, including the MOVE certificate. It explicitly mentions that the MOVE certificate was developed for IT training in the German-Dutch border region and helps trainees to make their skills more applicable across borders.

It is encouraging to see that MOVE is cited in this broader European discussion as a practical example of how regional cooperation can contribute to better international recognition of skills and learning outcomes.

The attention from the Benelux countries and the European Commission shows that issues such as the transferability of skills, transparent learning outcomes and cross-border mobility are becoming increasingly important – issues that MOVE is already actively promoting.
